NEWS: Graveland Live?

Since Capricornus and Karcaroth left Graveland in the 90's the project has been solely a one man affair, the last decade or so being spearheaded by the last surviving member, Rob Darken. With a string of consistent and often brilliant releases Darken has worked hard year in year out to continue to build the Graveland fan base, but there is one thing all Graveland fans are craving deep down and that's a live show! Well the wait may be over. Last year Darken played bass for a one off live show with Woodtemple in France and commenting on this he said it was to test the waters so to speak. Now, recent news from the Official Graveland site reveals that we may be getting closer to seeing Darken bring the Pagan wrath of Graveland to the live stage.

Darken posted this on the Official Site:
"After many years of staying as a solo project the time has come for some serious, epochal changes! Again, Graveland will be joined by other musicians that will be supposed to prepare the band for live performances. Working on two Graveland tracks for the cd split with Nokturnal Mortum will be a little test for the cooperation within the new line-up. On the 7th/8th of March 2015 we have recorded drum section for both new Graveland compositions. The new drummer is no one else than previously announced Miroslaw Rosinski (Mystherium, Horns, ex-Moontower, ex-Warfist). You can check the sample from the session below. In April we will record guitars again, later bass and vocals. Anna "Alruna" Oklejewicz also take part in those recordings, she is responsible for cello and medieval viella. Both compositions will be ready by the end of April. One of them will be also used for a video clip consisting of material recorded by Darken in Austrian mountains and forests.

Raise your Swords and Banners high! Soon you will see Graveland on the battlefield!"

If you're anything like me then this is certainly welcome news! And a split with Nokturnal Mortum as well, what more could you want? It certainly looks like it's going to be an interesting year for Graveland fans and I for one am pretty hyped! Head over to for some pictures and a video of the rehearsal session. And fingers crossed come 2016 I will be reviewing Graveland live! Watch this space.
